The Blazer Basketball programs are off and running!
Coach Jerod Haase and the UAB men’s basketball team is 11-3, including a win in the Conference USA opener this past weekend vs. The Blazer men have won eight games in a row and 20 straight contests in Birmingham dating back to last season.
Coach Randy Norton and the UAB women’s team won five-straight games in December, en route to a 7-5 overall record following their first C-USA game.
Both programs are undefeated at Bartow Arena this season, proving that strong and vocal home crowds help win games.
We are all very excited about this project and grateful to the Board for providing us with the ability to proceed with planning this critically important facility.
Coach Clark and his staff did a fantastic job recruiting this past Fall.

Earlier this week, we announced that our development office had a record-setting 2015, raising over million, the largest amount received in a single year in UAB Athletics history!It was truly a historic 2015 for the Blazer Athletics program and we look forward to making 2016 even more memorable.The Fall semester was a record setting term in the classroom, as our over 350 student-athletes collectively registered a 3.13 GPA.Our fans clearly embrace the challenge to and have supported the Blazers in great fashion…THANK YOU!We look forward to seeing you at Bartow Arena in the near future!
